SIR WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

Born in the year 1564, Sir William Shakespeare is commonly regarded as the greatest writer in the English language. His works, ranging from plays to collaborations to sonnets, have inspired millions of writers. Some of his most famous works include 'Romeo and Juliet', 'Hamlet', 'Macbeth' and 'Venus and Adonis'. As a child, William attended the local grammar school where he learnt Latin. At the age of 18, he married Anne Hathaway, the daughter of a local farmer and together they had 3 children. Shakespeare earned fame during the time period 1585-1592, which is often regarded as 'The Lost Years' by scholars. During this time, his first printed works were published in London, which included his long poems 'Venus and Adonis' and 'The Rape of Lucrece'. In all, his works comprise 38 plays, 2 narrative poems, 154 Shakespearean sonnets and a variety of other poems. Throughout his career, he lived in two cities: London and Stratford. As a writer, Shakespeare contributed a lot towards the language by inventing new words like radiance, fanged, birthplace, etc. He left for his heavenly abode on April 23 1616 at a young age of 52. A man of fame and honour, Sir William Shakespeare is a role model for thousands of people.
