YEHUDA AMICHAI

Regarded as one of Israel's finest and best poets, Yehuda Amichai was born on 3 May 1924 in the German city of Wurzburg. At the young age of 12, Amichai along with his family, migrated to Jerusalem in the year 1936. During his youth, the young man volunteered to serve as a soldier in the British Army. However, prior to the formation of Israel, he fought the British as a guerilla. An utter patriot, his poetry often reflects his deep love and admiration for his country, Israel. As a poet, he was indeed influenced deeply by famous English poets like W.H. Auden. His works are commonly characterized by their simplicity and lyrical use of the language. Some of his famous works include 'The Amen Stone', 'A Child is Something Else Again' and 'Time'. A truly brilliant writer, Amichai received numerous awards and honours, some of them being Shlonsky Prize, Brenner Prize and Agnon Prize. An exceptional writer, he left for his heavenly abode in the year 2000 due to cancer.

Deborah Ager

DEBORAH AGER Born in 1978, Deborah Ager is an American editor, poet and essayist. Married to writer Bill Beverly, Deborah lives in Hyattsville, Maryland with her husband and daughter, Olive. A graduate of the Newfield Network coaching school as well as a member of the International Coach Federation and Coachville, she earned a BA in English and a MFA in creative writing. She is the founder of the Book Activation and the Dream Client Formula. Besides this, she also founded the poetry magazine called '32 poems' in 2003 with the famous poet John Poch. Deborah has published three books and co-edited various anthologies, including 'Old Flame: 10 Years of 32 Poems Magazine' with Bill Beverly and John Poch and 'The Bloomsbury Anthology of Contemporary Jewish American Poetry' with M.E.
